After graduating in History at Warwick I knew I wanted to work in education.
I spent a year working as a teaching assistant and then applied to CTSN SCITT. I was placed at two great schools, Netherhall in Cambridge and then Swavesey Village College.
I loved the training programme and am now in my third year as a teacher in the history team at Swavesey.
I started my English teacher training with CTSN in 2013 and was based at Chesterton in the centre of Cambridge.
The course was very supportive and everyone in my placement schools helped me to develop my own teaching style.
Seven years later I am still at Chesterton but I now work on the Senior Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher.
I began my teaching career with CTSN as salaried Geography trainee back in 2004.
I was well supported by the programme, my mentor and colleagues at Impington Village College.
I stayed at Impington after completing the CTSN programme and have since had a number of different teaching and management roles around the county.
I returned to Impington in 2013 initially as Assistant Principal and then became Principal in 2016.
I’m now the Deputy CEO of the trust that sits behind Impington and remain committed to providing learning opportunities for all staff and pupils within our trust.
