Jonathan has been involved with the CTSN Primary SCITT since its inception, firstly as a Professional Tutor and as a Senior Tutor since September 2018. Now, as Headteacher in a village primary school, he is fully committed to supporting trainees so that our local schools have a rich and talented workforce of NQTs to inspire our children.
Cath has been Deputy Headteacher at Laureate Community Academy for five years with particular responsibilities for curriculum design and development, safeguarding, NQT mentoring and initial teacher training. In Cath’s previous school, she worked closely with the Cambridge Faculty of Education to develop the school as a specialist partner, offering day visits to trainees to experience the school’s values-based curriculum.
Ann has twenty-five years of SCITT teacher training experience primarily with the National SCITT in Outstanding Primary Schools centred at Nottingham University. She has been a mentor, Personal Tutor and now Senior Tutor and Primary Recruitment Lead with CTSN.
For the last 10 years, Jo has worked in teacher training for different providers. During this time she has led a training hub, taught professional content of the training course, delivered mentor training and advised them in school, and supported trainees throughout their training year.
During her 30 + years teaching, Jackie has experience of mentoring trainee teachers in the classroom. This is her second year working as a Senior Tutor for CTSN in which she has supported and coached primary trainees.
During her 15 years at Little Paxton Primary School, the last seven years as Deputy Head. Bex is passionate about teacher education and has not only mentored NQTs, but also supported various members of staff at different stages in their careers. Bex has been a mentor, Personal Tutor and a regular contributor to the Primary SCITT training programme since its beginning.
Kathy has been a primary headteacher in two schools in Suffolk for over 15 years and as a teacher has specialised in English, SEND and art. She continues to be passionate about all children accessing high quality primary education, whatever their needs.
Nichola qualified as a Primary as School teacher for 19 years and has been a Headteacher for seven years. She is passionate about promoting lifelong learning and loves being hands on in the classrooms of her school.
Jonny was a SCITT graduate himself and has taught at a range of school since. As the headteacher at Little Thetford CE Primary, Jonny is extremely passionate about supporting trainees and playing a role in developing those who are the future of the profession.
Beci is a senior tutor on the SCITT course and has previously worked as a CTSN PGCE tutor. She also supports PGCE trainees at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education with an Early Years English specialism. Beci also supports Early Career teachers through coaching, mentoring and facilitating training.
Lisa has worked in the education sector for 25 years as a teacher, headteacher and Specialist Leader in Education. She is passionate about research in education and has a Masters in Education Leadership and School Improvement from Cambridge University, where she investigated the journey of a SCITT trainee. Lisa has worked as a Senior Tutor and PGCE Tutor for CTSN.
Martin has been working in initial teacher education since 1994, as a subject mentor for Religious Studies, leading school-based teacher training as a Professional Tutor, and teaching on three different university PGCE courses.
Laura is an English Teacher and Lead Practitioner, alongside her CTSN roles. She is passionate about developing confident and self-motivated learners. She also specialises in coaching, mentoring and providing high quality, innovative CPD to colleagues at all different stages of their teaching careers.
Mark has been involved in teacher education for over 25 years as mentor, professional tutor and course trainer. He has worked with a range of providers and been involved with national initiatives such as Future Teaching Scholars. Currently he is a Senior Tutor, PGCE Tutor and Mentor Development tutor for CTSN SCITT.
Angela is an Assistant Headteacher at Saffron Walden County High School and the Secondary Programme Lead for CTSN SCITT. She is also a ILM qualified coach. In addition, Angela works on the teaching and learning team at Saffron Walden County High school and leads on initial teacher training across Essex within The Saffron Teaching School Hub.
Jessica has been a teacher of English for 10 years. She has enjoyed the move from KS3 lead to Library and KS3 whole school literacy lead, endeavouring to work her way through an ever-increasing reading list, as well as PT and ITT tutor.
Melanie has been teaching for over 28 years in different settings, but most recently as a secondary teacher of English. Her other roles include Director of Teaching and Learning at Newmarket Academy, lead practitioner and teacher trainer for CIEA. She is a founding fellow of the Chartered College of Teachers.
Jo has taught science and psychology in secondary schools for over 20 years. She has previously worked as a head of Science and is currently a specialist leader of education supporting teachers and science departments in a number of schools. Jo also works with STEM Learning to co-ordinate and deliver science training to teachers across the Cambridge and Peterborough area.
Alex is an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for professional development and ITT. Primarily a teacher of MFL, he has worked on ITT for a number of providers, and has produced training resources for the BBC and Pearson.
Mo Middleton is a middle leader in Humanities, currently teaching RE and Philosophy and has been involved in teacher training for over 25 years.
Verity has been a teacher of Create for 13 years. She is a SLE in T&L and a Professional / Induction Tutor. She works as a Principal Examiner and team leader for IB and Pearson.
Melanie is an experienced teacher of all three sciences, although she now focuses on Chemistry and Physics. She has acted as mentor to many trainee teachers and previously acted as the subject specialist for Chemistry for this SCITT for several years.
James is Assistant Principal at Sawston Village College, with responsibility for Teaching and Learning and staff Professional Learning. Formerly a Head of History but always a History teacher, with a particular interest in curriculum and language.
Being an ILM qualified professional coach and supervisor, Katie is Lead Teaching and Learning Coach at Saffron Walden County High School. She is responsible for overseeing Early Career Teachers and leading the school’s coaching programme. As a Senior Tutor for CTSN SCITT Katie helps lead mentor development training.
Sarah has taught Science in secondary schools for 20 years, and has been a Curriculum leader as well as an SLE. She has a real passion for teacher training and has been involved in mentoring, coaching and ITT leadership.
